New No Frills Open

The city's new No Frills store on Edward Street opened its doors to customers this morning. Darcy Leduc is the Owner and says he looks forward to talking with his customers about what they would like to see in the grocery store. The store is 24-thousand square feet in size and has been remodeled to include wooden slates on walls, wood crates for display cases and softer lighting.  The County Fair No Frills store is expected to open up soon as well.

Flu Shot Clinics Up & Running

Thunder Bay's Health Unit is preparing the masses for the upcoming flu season.  They kicked off their annual flu shot clinics today at the Italian Cultural Centre.  Dr. Janet DeMille is the Health Unit's Associate Medical Officer of Health and says they're not sure how harsh the flu season will be this year but notes last year's was worse than previous years. McGuinty is drawing mixed feelings for his Northern Debate no show

A few hecklers showed up to the Northern Ontario Leaders debate to send a message to the absent Premier.  One man from Kaministiquia had a very unique message to send that included some live props.

Meanwhile, Dalton McGuinty's absence from the debate makes sense according to Lakehead University Economics Professor Livio Di Matteo.  He says there wasn't much to gain by coming considering a major gaffe could hurt him in the vote rich GTA while it's likely most voters here have already made up their minds.  

Crowd storms out of council chambers

Anti-wind farm supporters stormed out of last night's council meeting before the final vote was held.  Councillor Rebecca Johnson was speaking about how many early Thunder Bay residents could have been wary of hydro lines running up and down city streets, and how noisey some generators can be.  During her time on the mic, many of the anti-wind farm supporters left the chambers in droves.
